Actor Jonathan Bennett’s most notable role in his over two-decade-long career is that of Aaron Samuels from the 2004 cult classic Mean Girls. And just like his character in the movie, the actor is close to receiving a happy conclusion to his romantic relationship in his real-life.

Currently engaged to host Jaymes Vaughan, the two are expecting to tie the knot soon.

Bennett Is Engaged To Jaymes Vaughan

Bennett first met his longtime-boyfriend and now soon-to-be husband Jaymes Vaughan in 2016 when Vaughan interviewed him for Celebrity Page TV. At the time, the Mean Girls star was the host of Halloween Wars

Bennett even said that he found the love of his life because of Halloween Wars.

According to a People exclusive, the two got engaged in November of 2020 after Vaughan proposed to Bennett with a song he composed and himself, with a bit of help of a dear friend and producer, Tanzer.

The proposal came as a surprise for Bennett, who had gone to Canada to film The Christmas House for Hallmark. Vaughan utilized Bennett’s six-week absence to set everything in motion.

Bennett also shared his side of the story with the outlet, saying that he was kept entirely in the dark about the surprise.

Bennett was under the impression that they were about to take family Christmas card photos, and that was why Vaughan's photographer friend Eric was here along with the actor's photographer nephew Andrew. He added:

But then no one would look me in the eye and I was like what is going on? I later found it out it was because they didn’t want to spoil what was about to happen.

Bennett was greeted with the sight of Vaughan holding a sign that read, “We never did find our song, so I wrote it for you,” as the song started playing.

The actor said that he immediately knew what was happening,  as Vaughan had made the same type of sign previously to convey his love for the first time.

Vaughan embraced Bennett in a hug and proceeded to get down on one knee and say these beautiful words:

...I wanna spend forever, every single day telling you how much I love you. You’re my forever baby. Jonathan David Bennett, will you marry me?

Bennett answered immediately while letting out squeals of joy.

Vaughan Wants A Classic, Timeless Wedding

In the same interview, the engaged gay couple shared their take on their ideal wedding.

Vaughan stated that he wanted a classic, timeless wedding. At the same time, his fiance answered, “I’m envisioning something between when Elphaba flies in the musical Wicked and the finale number of The Greatest Showman.”

In a recent Instagram post, Vaughan also shared that the duo had a meeting with a wedding planner on March 13, 2021.
