Joel Kinnaman’s Ex-wife Shows Love at His Engagement with Kelly Gale

On January 19, 2021, Joel Kinnaman shared the news of his engagement with girlfriend Kelly Gale on Instagram. The Suicide Squad star, 41, shared a photo of the romantic proposal, where he is seen down on his knee, and Gale is flashing a broad smile. He jokingly captioned the post, “She said no. Jus kiddin.”

The Victoria’s Secret model took a more romantic approach and confirmed the joyous news in a series of Instagram snaps of them sharing a kiss atop a cliff.

In the pictures, the model is seen wearing a diamond ring. 

Kinnaman Was Married Earlier

This is the first marriage for Gale and a second for Kinnaman.

His first marriage to tattoo artist Cleo Wattenström was initially kept under wraps until 2016, when Joel referred to Cleo as “my wife” while promoting the movie Suicide Squad. After two years of their marriage, the couple announced their split.

The pair have remained friends post their split and are even spotted hanging out with a group of friends. 

Before his first marriage, the House of Cards alum dated actress Olivia Munn for two years before parting ways in 2014. Both exes appear to be on good terms with Kinnaman as they congratulated him on his engagement post.

Meanwhile, Gale’s comment section was flooded by her fellow Victoria’s Secret models Sara Sampaio, Victoria Lee, Jasmine Tookes, and Shanina Shaik, who all left congratulatory messages for the duo. 

The engagement announcement was also met with equal excitement from their families.

On the post, Kelly’s brother congratulated the couple and jokingly asked when he could expect to become an uncle, to which Kelly replied in Swedish, ‘calm, now.’

Kinnaman and Kelly have been dating for almost two years. The actor went public with his relationship in April 2019, three months after he split from his wife.

Their relationship became official in October when the two made their red carpet debut at the premiere of For All Mankind.

Last year in December on Instagram, when fans quizzed kelly about their life, she revealed the moment she knew Joel was ‘her guy.’ 

On our spontaneous trip to Bali together after only three dates, he got up at 1AM to go on a night/early hike with me. I was like 'Ok, he's my guy.'

Amid the Coronavirus pandemic, the couple took their relationship to the next level by adopting an adorable puppy to ‘add to their family’ in Los Angeles.

Kelly shared the big news on Instagram with a photo of the puppy and the happy couple with the caption, “Guess who just became puppy parents? We rescued this little cutie yesterday.”
