American singer Jana Kramer and her husband Mike Caussin have had their share of ups and downs in their marriage, including infidelity among other problems.

After getting married in May 2015, the podcast hosts had daily disagreements. Money, work, insecurity, jealousy, infidelity, and addiction issues built barriers around their hearts.

Amid the chaos, they discovered something invaluable: they learned how to fight for each other with love, compassion, laughter, and faith when fighting in the most difficult of circumstances.

Caussin previously confessed to infidelity and sex addiction, including relapses in the years he's been undergoing therapy.

In a May 2020 interview with People, Kramer disclosed she started writing the memoir about their personal experiences at the time her husband was undergoing treatment.

At that point, Caussin was not ready to share his story and was against it, but Kramer thought it would inspire people. The duo said this happened during the first calendar year of their marriage.

"It was still real new for both of us. I was still so stuck in shame that I didn't see the silver lining of how we can help other people because I was so small at the time."

Five years later, the co-hosts of the Whine Down podcast shared their experiences and hoped to assist those dealing with similar problems through their book.

According to Caussin, they are not pretending they have sorted it all out. With the help of professionals, they are now in the right direction.

'The Good Fight'

The book tells the story of a couple who wanted to fight for their relationship and stay together to respect their everlasting love. Kramer and Caussin take the readers through the specifics of their toughest battles with sincerity, warmth, and hilarity.

The couple teach readers how they've interacted, prayed, forgiven, and radically accepted each other to live their happiest, most satisfying lives, and they offer lessons that anyone—married, dating, or single—can use to give and receive lasting love.

Each chapter starts with them sharing their side of a real-life battle they've been in, followed by the strategies they've learned to get out of those kinds of situations.

The book also includes details the couple never publicly shared before, including pregnancy details and Kramer’s experience in Dancing with the Stars

“We decided it was a good time to just kind of lay it all out there and give perspective and [explain] why Mike was gone in January”, Kramer explained. They are parents to two children, Jolie, 4, and son Jace, 2.

The couple admitted writing the book was stressful and triggering at times. They said they even made fun of themselves in the book because the last thing they want people to think is they have it all figured out.
