Geena Davis Co-Parenting Children With Estranged Partner Despite Fighting a Legal Court Case
In May 2020, actress Geena Davis and her estranged partner, Reza Jarrahy, celebrated the 16th birthday of their twin sons Kaiis and Kian at the actress's home in Pacific Palisades, LA.
The most intriguing thing about the reunion was Davis and Jarrahy coming together as parents. The former pair is fighting a one-on-one case in court. While the plastic surgeon demands spousal support from the Thelma and Louise star, the actress claims they were never legally married.
Fighting a Legal Court Case
Davis’ former spouse Jarrahy filed for a divorce from the actress, citing irreconcilable differences in May 2018. He also asked for spousal support, a split in the property, along with joint legal and physical custody of their children.
But the actress came up with an interesting twist in the tale, stating they were never officially married because they had never obtained a marriage license. And since there was no marriage, there was no need for a legal divorce.
Now, the twists and turns have halted the case from reaching any conclusion — the case is yet to get a final hearing.
Geena Davis and Reza Jarrahy First Met in 1999
Despite the ongoing chaos around the certainty of their legal marriage, one cannot take away that Davis and Jarrahy managed a very close relationship and lived like a married couple.
The former pair first met in 1999 through mutual friends, reported Dailymail. A couple of years later, the two exchanged vows in a private ceremony in the Hamptons, but they never obtained a marriage license, or so Davis claimed.
The former couple had also issued a joint statement at that time: “We are very happy, and we look forward to spending the rest of our lives together.”
Geena Davis and Reza Jarrahy are Co-Parenting Their Children
A League of Their Own actress and the doctor have three children from their relationship. As of 2021, their daughter Alizeh is 19 years old and twins Kaiis and Kian are 17.

And although the couple has decided to end their relationship, they have been on good terms to co-parent their children. They have also set an example through their actions that they are on the same page when it comes to co-parenting their teenage kids.
One fine instance of that was the one we mentioned earlier. The former pair celebrated their twin sons' 16th birthday at the actress’s house.
The doctor joined the celebration wearing hospital scrubs and a pair of sunglasses, while the actress welcomed him donning blue jeans and a pink 'Love Is Love' long-sleeve top. The two were also spotted exchanging brief words.

By the look of that event, it seems like no matter what the court decides about their cases, the two will be dedicated to giving their children the best upbringing.
Geena Davis on increasing opportunities for women on screen
It has been thirty years since Thelma & Louise won an oscar for its portrayal of a beautiful tale of female friendship.
Sadly that also means that it has been over thirty years that Geena Davis has been fighting for improved opportunities for women in Hollywood.
In a July 25, 2021 conversation with CBS correspondent Tracy Smith, the oscar-winning "activist" spoke about change both in front and behind the camera.
She spoke about how wrong it was that people had to lose opportunities simply because of their age or gender. Sadly she has repeatedly stated that despite her and many like her pushing for equality and change, it's not been seen yet.
