Arguably, she even gives her husband a run for his money when it comes to professional accomplishments.
Part of the McDonald's Family for Over Fifteen Years
Devereux's wife, Merz, has been working at McDonald’s for over fifteen years now. She began her McDonald's journey as a finance manager in September 2005 and served the position until March 2012.
Following that, she was promoted to the Director of Global Financial Reporting, a position she held for over three years. With her hard work and dedication, she was then assigned a higher position as the Finance Director, US Marketing, Menu, and Initiatives. She handled the responsibilities from August 2015 to November 2017.
Later, she was awarded the role of Director of US Business Insights and Analytics. Fulfilling the duties as the analytics expert for a year, she further advanced to her current position as the Senior Director of Investor Relations in January 2019. She has been working in the position for the past two years.
With such an impressive resume in such a short span of time, you'd think that Merz had been working there all her life. But before her expansive career at McDonald's, she had a stint as an audit manager in a London based accounting company, Ernst and Young LLP, for six years.
Merz Has a Master’s Degree in Accountancy
Working as a finance and accounting professional at a world-renowned multi-chain company requires a high qualifying degree, and, not surprisingly, Devereux's better half is a 2002 graduate of Masters of Science from the University of Notre Dame-Mendoza College of Business with a major in accounting. Prior to that, she completed her Bachelors in Science with an accounting major from Gies College of Business-University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
With her educational qualifications and two-decade-long professional career, she has gained skills, including financial reporting, accounting, auditing, financial analysis, financial modeling, due diligence financial accounting US GAAP, GAAP finance management, internal controls managerial finance, internal auditing, and more.
The Couple Has Adopted a Baby Boy
Devereux and Merz have been the proud parents of little Dominic since they adopted him in June 2019.
The couple listed their adoption in the Amazon Baby Registry and seemed overjoyed with the family's new member. So much so, that they were eager to share the theme of their nursery on the registry page.
We’re so excited little Dominic is here! Our nursery will have a doggie theme and will be gray/white with navy and kelly green accents. We can’t wait for you to meet him!
It seems the couple likes to maintain a low profile as far as their personal life is concerned. The Devereuxs have never revealed the details of their wedding. However, it is known for a fact that the Judge Mathis actor has been married for at least thirteen years.
