Ever since period drama Bridgerton premiered in December 2020, all eyes have been on Daphne Bridgerton played by Phoebe Dynevor and Simon Basset, and the Duke of Hastings played by Regé-Jean Page.

The chemistry between the two was so palpable in the Netflix series that fans wondered whether the English stars were in love in real life. While appearing on Access, Page was asked about their rumored off-screen relationship.

I think everything you need to know is on camera. That’s why we presented it so beautifully for you. All the sparks that flew off of the beautiful scripts that we were handed, so I think that the sparky scripted material is more than enough.

Although it did not confirm the speculations, the two actors continued teasing fans with evasive replies in interviews.

However, fans were shocked and slightly disappointed when news broke out in April that Dynevor was seeing the Saturday Night Live comic, Pete Davidson. What was even more shocking was that Page might have had something to do with it.

Phoebe Dynevor and Pete Davidson's Relationship

The rumors of the duo’s relationship first surfaced when fans spotted the two together in the U.K. on multiple occasions. According to Us Weekly, the two were packing on PDA in Caverswall, England, and seemed genuinely happy together.

The couple had “hit it off” after meeting at a gathering in NYC. A source told Entertainment Tonight that the two were initially friends but quickly realized they had chemistry and started dating casually. The source also added that things were getting serious.

Although it is unclear how the two met, it is highly possible that Page set Dynevor up with her boyfriend. On February 20, Page hosted SNL and closed out his appearance on the show in the parody of Bridgerton by starring as himself.

According to Popsugar, the “gathering” Phoebe and Pete met could also have been an SNL afterparty.

These are just guesses, and we can only wait for the couple to spill more details about their relationship to know if the guesses were correct.

Their First Public Appearance

The couple had made no comments about their relationship and preferred to keep it private. But all that changed on July 3 when they made their first public appearance at Wimbledon in London.

Davidson and Dynevor, in their matching green ensembles, were seen cuddling up as they watched Roger Federer’s match from the Lanson suite at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club. They were photographed sharing forehead kisses, side hugs, and more public displays of affection.

Davidson also took to Instagram to share the moment by posting photos of himself and Dynevor. The couple appeared to be head over heels for each other while gazing into each other’s eyes, and Davidson kept the caption simple with heart emojis.
