Two things that can make one of the greatest coaches in NFL history and six times Super Bowl championship winner, Bill Belichick, smile. That is winning the Super Bowl and being with his longtime partner Linda Holliday. The two got together in 2007, a year after Belichick’s divorce with Debby Clark, his wife of 28 years.

Over a Decade Long Relationship With Girlfriend Linda

The New England Patriots head coach divorced his wife Debby in 2006. A year later, he met Linda Holliday at a nightclub in Palm Beach. Holliday even broke up with a man she was dating at the time to be in a relationship with him. 

Although they are not married, she calls herself Ms. Bill Belichick on her Instagram. She is very active on social media platforms, where she posts pictures of herself with her partner on vacation and game day cheering the team. She is also the director of the Bill Belichick Foundation.

Did Belichick Propose to His Longtime Girlfriend?

In 2014, news of Belichick being engaged to his longtime girlfriend Holliday surfaced when she was seen sporting a diamond ring on her left ring finger. But the news turned out to be false.

The couple again made the headlines in December 2019 when a picture she posted on Instagram had her wearing a diamond ring on her left hand. That being said, the couple has neither announced nor confirmed the advancement of their relationship.

Belichick and His Ex-Wife Were High School Sweethearts

The Patriots coach was married to his high school sweetheart, Debby Clark, before getting together with Holliday. They divorced in 2006 after his name surfaced in a divorce case involving another couple. According to reports, the couple was already separated in 2004. 

The former couple has three children together: two sons and a daughter. Sons Stephen and Brian both work for the Patriots as safeties coach and coaching assistant respectively. Their daughter Amanda also followed a similar path and is a college lacrosse coach. 

Clark is a businesswoman who co-owns ‘The Art of Tile & Stone' tile store with her friend after the split with her ex-husband.

Belichick Was Caught up in Another Couple’s Divorce

The Patriots head coach’s relationship with another woman surfaced in 2006 when Sharon Shenocca and her husband were going through a divorce. According to Heavy, Shenocca and Belichick met in the 80s when she was a receptionist for the New York Giants, and he was the team’s defensive coordinator. 

According to the New York Post, Belichick was accused in court papers of sending Shenocca envelopes stuffed with cash and buying a secret $2.2 million Park Slope townhouse for her use. 

At first, she insisted on the Patriots coach for being a family friend who sent her money out of generosity but later, she admitted that she lied. This situation further worsened the marital drift he was going through with Debby, and she finally filed for divorce in 2006.
