Canadian-born Lilly Singh, commonly known as Superwoman, is a YouTuber, comedian, actress, and talk show host. Her journey as a digital creator began in 2010 when Singh put graduate school on hold and pursued a career in YouTube.

She made various types of comedy sketches. Some were rants about experiences in her life, while others were skits about either everyday scenarios that many people could relate to or weird, hypothetical situations. It didn’t take long before she began gaining many followers.

In 2013, she hit 1 million subscribers, and that number grew to over 10 million in 2017. Currently, she has over 14 million subscribers. The entertainer admitted that she started her YouTube journey to overcome depression. She believed that if she could make people laugh, she could laugh as well.

Today Singh is one of the most successful YouTube personalities.

Singh Is Amongst the Highest-Paid YouTubers

With over 14 million subscribers and billions of views on her channel, it is no surprise that Singh is one of the highest-paid YouTubers. Singh’s staggering number of subscribers and views earned her around $1.8 million per year from advertisements and views.

Singh also has a second channel called Lilly Singh Vlogs, and with almost 3 million subscribers and over 400 million views, she earns an estimated $200,000 per year. In 2015, Forbes released its first-ever ranking of the top-paid YouTube stars and discovered the 10 channels that earned the most from their internet career.

The DIY filmmaker, director, producer, actor all rolled into one came in eighth in the Top 10 highest-paid YouTubers. She was estimated to have earned $2.5 million that year. But by the following year, Singh had climbed her way to the third position with $7.5 million, and in 2017, she raked in $10.5 million.

Singh’s Other Aspirations

Although YouTube was Singh’s claim to fame and her primary source of income, the entertainer has evolved and ventured outside the realm of YouTube over the years. According to Celebrity NetWorth, Singh is worth $20 million.

In December 2015, she left Toronto for Los Angeles. In between, Singh went on a whirlwind global tour that included 31 shows in 27 cities, and most of them sold out, which was chronicled in the documentary A Trip to Unicorn Island. The documentary was available for paid streaming on many platforms like iTunes and Vudu.

Less than 2 years later, Singh traded YouTube for book publishing when she instructed readers How To Be A Bawse. The book became a number one New York Times Bestseller. As a successful South Asian, Singh continued to break glass ceilings when she got to host her own NBC late-night show.

She appeared on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon to make the announcement and said

Kind of like my YouTube channel, but, you know, now I have more than three staff members.

Inside Singh’s Hollywood Pad

Singh definitely knows how to spend her hard-earned money. The talk show host shelled out $4.1 million for a contemporary home in Studio City, CA, in the hills of the San Fernando Valley that offered a private view of the panoramic city and the mountains.

The home spans 6,361 square feet and comprises five bedrooms and six-and-a-half bathrooms, with an elevator connecting all three floors. Her dwelling comes with an indoor recreational area with a wet bar, a games room, a home theater, and a four-car garage.

Besides her latest purchase, Singh owns a townhouse in L.A.’s Hancock Park, which she bought for just under $1.5 million back in 2016. Singh might just end up buying more homes as her net worth continues to climb with newer projects.Â
