After graduating, she became a writer who now publishes under the name E.A. Hanks, also her name on her Twitter and Instagram accounts.
Elizabeth gained prominence as a writer when top-class magazines like Time and The Guardian published her works.

In 2019, her father opened up to The New York Times about how differently she and her brother Colin were raised compared to her two other half brothers.
"My son and daughter was born when I was very young. But that means we have this gestalt understanding because they remember when their dad was just a guy trying to, you know, make the rent," said Tom.

He added that his other kids were born after he had "established a beachhead in every way," and so their lives were not the same.
Elizabeth Ann Hanks Is Proud of Her Father
It is not a secret that Tom is a family man, as he has often gushed about his family.
These values have been instilled in his kids as well, including daughter Elizabeth.
In 2020, the entire Hanks family was present when the Saving Private Ryan actor was present with the Cecil B. DeMille Award at Golden Globes.
The award is given to one recipient annually, by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, for "outstanding contributions to the world of entertainment."
Elizabeth took to her Instagram and posted a photo of her entire family, accompanied by a message for her father.
"Team Hanks is proud. And I am proud and more than that lucky, to have a father who has taught me to always tell the truth, to move forward, that the hang is the best part of circus life and that to make art is a gift from the gods," wrote the author.
