Mena Massoud starred in the titular role in the highly successful 2019 Disney film Aladdin. 

And after a long wait, fans finally got to see him in Netflix rom-com The Royal Treatment. 

The movie debuted on January 2022 and saw Massoud take on the role of Prince Thomas, who is getting ready for an arranged marriage. 

However, the royal wedding is put on hold when the prince meets the down-to-earth New York-based hairstylist Izzy. 

The two of them end up entangled in a romantic affair. 

On the personal front, though, the Aladdin actor will not be having an arranged marriage because he already has a special someone in his life.  

Is Mena Massoud Married?

The actor is currently dating Emily Shah, the daughter of Prashant Shah, a renowned Bollywood film producer.

Shah was the youngest contestant to be crowned Miss New Jersey USA back in 2014.

The couple is relatively private; therefore, it has not been unconfirmed when the duo started dating. 

But from the few photos they have of each other on their socials, it looks like they have been dating since 2019. 

According to The Focus, Massoud’s girlfriend is also an actor trained in Bollywood and Western acting styles. 

She studied theater arts at Lee Strasberg’s Institute of Film and Theater in Hollywood and trained at the New York Film Academy and Madhumati Film & Dance Academy in Juhu.

Throughout the 2000s, she appeared in numerous Bollywood films, but in 2018 she starred in the Amazon movie Fortune Defies Death. 

A year later, she starred in her first prominent film, Jungle Cry, based on the true story of the Junior Indian Rugby team and their World Cup win. 

Shah took on the role of psychotherapist Roshni Thakkar. 

Besides working in front of the camera, the actress also has experience working behind it.

She has worked as a stunt director assistant on Captain America 2 and Fast & Furious 7.

Did Mena Massoud Date Naomi Scott?

But before Massoud was dating Shah, he was linked to Naomi Scott. Scott starred opposite Massoud in Aladdin as Jasmine, Aladdin’s love interest. 

The two actors had such incredible chemistry that everyone thought they had something going on. 

According to Pop Sugar, during the movie’s premiere, they were not only holding hands, but at one point, Massoud even kissed Scott on the forehead. 

And Massoud being the gentleman that he is, helped Scott with her dress. 

Unfortunately, as much as fans shipped them, the duo was not dating because Scott was happily married to English footballer Jordan Spence when she was cast in the movie. 

Scott and Spence were married in 2014 after four years of dating.

The duo even attended several Aladdin premieres around the world.

In 2019, Scott told British Vogue that she and her husband had big aspirations, and they hoped to become a power couple someday. 

“We’re young people with big aspirations—I want to be a power couple, I want to make all the money and have a big house,” Scott told the outlet.
