Who Is Marina Squerciati’s Husband? Inside Her Family Life
Chicago P.D. star Marina Squerciati married Eli Kay-Oliphant, an attorney, back in 2016. Together, the actress and her husband have a daughter whom they welcomed in May 2017.
Squerciati’s social media is filled with posts about her work, with a few being related to her daughter and family.
And though she has opened up about her experience with pregnancy and motherhood in the past, she has kept matters related to her family mostly private.
Here’s a look at Squerciati’s husband, daughter, and their family.
Who Is Marina Squerciati’s Husband?
Not much is known about Squerciati’s husband, and the actress has also refrained from putting him in the spotlight.
According to his Linkedin page, he has been a partner at Sparacino PLLC, a high-stakes commercial litigation firm, since September 2020.
Before joining Sparacino PLLC, Kay-Oliphant had been a partner at Massey & Gail LLP from September 2014 to September 2020.
His other professional experiences include being an associate at other companies, including Kobre & Kim LLP, Latham & Watkins, and O’Melveny & Myers LLP.
Kay-Oliphant completed his undergraduate degree in political science from Northwestern University, where Squerciati earned her undergraduate degree in theater. He got his JD from Emory University School of Law.
Marina Squerciati And Her Daughter
Squerciati first announced she was expecting on February 15, 2017, through a sponsored post for a stroller company.
The Gossip Girl alum also shared that Chicago P.D. viewers would see her character, Kim Burgess, holding a lot of file folders in front of her stomach to hide the baby bump.
It was also a hint that her pregnancy had not been written into the police procedural action series.
Squerciati and her husband welcomed their daughter in May 2017, just three months after the news of their pregnancy. And though plenty of her posts have included her daughter, the actress hasn’t revealed her daughter’s name.
She has, however, spoken about her experience with motherhood and the challenges that came with it.
When speaking to Chicago Parent, Squerciati revealed what thoughts she wanted to instill in her daughter.
I have three adjectives in my head whenever I’m parenting, [but] it’s not like I wake up and am like ‘This is my mantra for the day.’ I want her to be brave, I want her to be confident and I want her to be kind.
Squerciati also shared that she wants to give her daughter the freedom to choose what she wants to be.
She noted she didn’t dress her daughter in “pink and frills” but would respect it if that’s what her child wanted. “If she doesn’t want to be a badass, that’s fine too. I just want her to choose and be confident in her choices.”
During the same interview, Squerciati also talked about returning to the Chicago P.D. set after giving birth.
However, she added it was much more challenging to get back into shape than she had expected. She thought she could start hitting the gym after four weeks but didn’t go to the gym for the first eight months.
