NBA Player Kevin Love Has Been Engaged to Kate Bock after a Long-Distance Relationship

Cleveland Cavaliers player Kevin Love is getting married soon it seems. He recently got engaged to his girlfriend of over six years, Kate Bock. 

The NBA star first met his model girlfriend in 2016. They began dating shortly after, but because of their busy lives, they were in a long-distance relationship initially.

However, despite the long-distance relationship, Love and his girlfriend made time for each other as much as they could.

Bock previously shared about making time for Love when talking to Ocean Drive in 2017.

“Luckily, it’s not very far,” she shared. “Cleveland is only like an hour-long flight from New York.”

“So I go back and forth between here and there and jobs, and then sometimes meet him on the road if it makes sense, so I see him pretty often even though we live in different cities and both travel for work.”

Kevin Love and Girlfriend Got Engaged After 5 Years Together

On January 31, 2021, Love revealed he was engaged to his girlfriend of five years by posting a black-and-white picture of himself and Bock sharing a kiss. A large ring could be seen on her ring finger.

“Souls tend to go back to who feels like home,” he wrote in the caption. “My Fiancé. The Joy of My life.”

Bock also shared the news on her own Instagram. She shared more details about the proposal, revealing it had taken place during her birthday.

“Well, this was the best birthday surprise I could have ever imagined,” she wrote. “I couldn’t be happier to have been asked to be a Love. Heart bursting all day & night.”

Since then, the pair have shared about each other in many posts. In February 2022, she posted a picture of Love staring out into the sea while on a boat and wrote, “I get to marry him.”

Just a few days prior, Love had uploaded a picture of his fiancé to wish her a Happy Valentine’s Day. There, he described her as his best friend and GOAT.

Kate Bock Grew Interested in Basketball Because of Kevin Love   

Bock has been incredibly supportive of her fiancée. Though she was a swimmer and often played baseball, soccer, and field hockey when she was young, she knew little about basketball when she met Love.

“Before I met Kevin, I had never watched basketball,” she shared. “When we first started dating, I was gifted ‘Basketball for Dummies.’”

Bock soon grew passionate about basketball. She now watches NBA games that don’t feature Love.

When talking to The Athletic, Love recounted an incident when Bock broke down crying when LeBron James was leaving to join the Los Angeles Lakers.

“I remember when LeBron left, we were in the Hamptons around a lot of people and I still have the picture,” he shared. 

“She [Bock] just started breaking down and crying, ‘Does that mean there’s no more LeBron?’ She still doesn’t know how trades work and all that. Like even still.”

Bock has also posted several pictures of herself attending Love’s games. In January 2021, she posted a snap of Love giving an interview after a victory as she watched him from outside the court.

“#1 fan of LOVE,” she wrote in the captions followed by a string of basketball emojis.
