K-Pop has been around for the longest time, but thanks to the surge of social media, it has taken the world by storm in the last few years.

But behind the music and talented artists is the entertainment agencies that sponsor these artists. The entertainment companies are reporting all-time high profits as their K-pop groups are getting global exposure. One such agency is Starship Entertainment.

Starship Entertainment has produced some of the biggest stars like their 12-member girl group Cosmic Girls, South Korea's princess IU and Kpop's "Summer Queens," SISTAR. But now Starship is looking to nurture a new girl group called IVE

Starship Entertainment's New Girl Group

Starship Entertainment recently announced their new six-member girl group.

In August, the agency announced its plans to debut a new girl group in the second half of 2021, but they did not reveal the girl group's name.

After months of anticipation, the agency finally revealed the details on November 1. Starship shared on their Instagram page that their new girl group would be called IVE, short for "I HAVE," which shows that the group has all the things to be a Kpop star. They also launched the official social media account under IVE's name.

The account already has over 44,000 followers. Besides the social media account, the agency also revealed a logo animation. In the video, transparent water droplets gather to complete the letters I, V, and E in a crystallized form.

According to Soompi, the agency plans to establish the group's brand identity before the debut to ensure its path for success.

IVE will be Starship Entertainment's first girl group in five years, after WJSN (Cosmic Girls) and the first new group since CRAVITY in April 2020. Insiders have stated that the group has it all, from visuals to talent, to become the biggest Kpop superstar.

Starship Entertainment IVE's Rumored Members

The entertainment agency has not revealed the girl group members yet, but rumors have been swirling about some members.

On August 22, Star News reported that former IZ*ONE members, Jang Won-young and Ahn Yu-jin, are highly expected to be re-debuting with IVE. The girls were part of Mnet's popular survival show called Produce 48, where they battled with 94 other girls from different agencies for a chance to debut.

Won-young and Yu-Jin both came in 1st and 5th during the finale and successfully debuted with IZ*ONE, a 12 member girl group in 2018. But, unfortunately, IZ*ONE disbanded on April 2021, and all the girls returned to their former agencies.

Won-young and Yu-Jin were part of Starship before they joined as a member of IZ*ONE. According to the reports, the two girls will be joined by other teenaged Starship Entertainment trainees and former SM Entertainment trainee Lami.

However, nothing has been confirmed yet, and at this point, fans can only wait for Starship to release more information.
