Harrison Ford and his wife Calista Flockhart are one of Hollywood’s most famous and formidable couples.

The couple first met at the 2002 Golden Globes awards ceremony, where Ford was honored with the Cecil B. DeMille Award.

Meanwhile, Flockhart was nominated for her role as Ally McBeal. Despite the 22-year age gap, the two immediately hit it off after meeting each other. And only a year later, Ford publicly declared his affection for the actress during an interview with Hello.

“Romantic love is one of the most exciting and fulfilling kinds of love, and I think there is potential for it at any stage of your life. So I was not surprised I could fall in love.”

At the time, Ford was amid his divorce from the Hollywood dignitary, screenwriter Melissa Mathison, with whom he had two children.

And because of that, the pair kept their relationship low-key at first, eventually tying the knot in 2010.

Harrison Ford’s Long Lasting Marriage with Wife

Ford and Flockhart are still together and have been together for two decades. Their marriage has definitely stood the test of time, and naturally, Ford had something to say when asked about the secrets to a long-lasting and healthy marriage.

Before his 10th anniversary, the Indiana Jones star opened up about some marriage tricks he learned through the years during an interview with Parade

His best marriage advice was “don’t talk” and Instead, “nod your head.”

“Another secret? Complete your chores!” the actor joked with his dry humor and suggested these chores were provided to him by his wife, explaining there [were] "honey do’s.”

Perhaps their shared sense of humor has kept the pair together for two decades.

In 2017, while speaking on how she and her husband keep the spark alive in their marriage, Flockhart told Closer Weekly she and Ford laughed a lot and that humor was everything to her.

She added their age gap had never been an issue in their relationship. Although Ford was much older than her, she sometimes felt much older than him and forgot how much older he was.

Harrison Ford’s Previous Failed Marriages

Before finding his happily ever after with his wife, Ford had been married and divorced twice

The actor and his first wife, Mary Marquardt, wed on June 18, 1964, after meeting at a liberal arts college in Wisconsin.

They welcomed their first son, Benjamin, on September 22, 1966, and their second child, Willard, three years later. The pair eventually called it quits in 1979.

After Marquardt, Ford moved on to Melissa Mathison, who is renowned for writing the screenplays for 1982’s E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial,

The former couple met while Mathison was visiting the set of Apocalypse Now.

In 1983, the couple made it official and got married, and four years later, they welcomed a son named Malcolm and three years later, a daughter named Georgia.

The couple called it quits eventually and finalized their divorce in 2004. According to reports, they were on good terms until 2015, when Mathison died of cancer.
