Gary Busey and Jake Busey have both contributed to the movie industry in their own ways.

About Gary Busey's Son Jake Busey

Jake Busey is an American actor, musician, and movie producer. 

He was born to actor Gary Busey, 50, and photographer Judy Helkenberg, 77, in Malibu, California.

Jake spent his childhood mostly on film sets and sometimes touring with his father. He aimed to become an actor from a young age.

Jake made his entry into the industry at the very young age of five.

His first-ever motion picture was Dustin Hoffman's opus, Straight Time (1978). In the movie, he starred next to his father.

The Star Troopers actor started auditioning when he was 20 and landed a role in a PBS film, Shimmer.

The actor is married to April Hutchinson. They welcomed their daughter, Autumn, in 2012.

Gary Busey and Son's Relationship

Gary, age 77, is a proud dad who thinks highly of Jake and sees himself in his son.

In an interview with Closer, Gary mentioned that his son was an honest veteran.

Jake is not just a part of the family business, but one of his latest roles connects him directly to his father.

Jake starred in Shane Black's The Predator, released in 2018, and Gary starred in Stephen Hopkins' Predator 2, released in 1990.

That means they've both faced off against the competent alien hunter in the film franchise, although they were born 28 years apart.

Jake is Gary's eldest son, among his other three kids. 

Gary explained that Jake learned from every struggle, mistake, and difficult situation he had faced while growing up.

Gary Busey and His Family 

Gary became a household name for his Oscar-nominated role in The Buddy Holly Story.

However, his life has not always been rainbows and sunshine. Instead, it has been more of a roller coaster ride.

In 1988, Gary survived a near-fatal motorcycle accident, which led to a horrific brain injury.

He has seen two divorces, faced bankruptcies, fought with addiction, and had cancer below his left eye.

But he survived it all and bounced back. "I am the champion, and I do not accept defeat," Gary opined.

The Lethal Weapon actor has been in a relationship with his long-term girlfriend, Steffanie Sampson, since 2008.

Luke Busey is Gary and Sampson's son. He is also a professional actor represented by Coast to Coast Talent Group and Luber Roklin Entertainment.

Luke's Instagram is handled by his mom, where he often shares pictures that show his happiness to work with Elmo.

Closer reported that Gary and Sampson had created a book in 2018 called Buseyisms: Gary Busey's Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth.

Apparently, as the veteran actor took a deep dive into his mind and life to incorporate all his experiences in the book, he realized his strength, courage, and resilience. 

All in all, Gary is living a wonderful life with all his kids and family close to him.
