Kurt Cobain's daughter is dating Tony Hawk's son! 

Frances Bean Cobain had been out of social media and the larger public sphere for a while as she went on a hiatus to better focus on her mental, physical, and spiritual well-being.

2021 was a year of healing for the Nirvana frontman's daughter. When the year finally ended, she quietly dropped a post on Instagram to reveal that she was dating the iconic skateboarder Tony Hawk's son Riley Hawk. 

Frances Bean Cobain on Her Year-long Hiatus

In an Instagram post Frances made on New Year's Day 2022, she explained she had taken a year-long break from Instagram, which had been exceptionally good for her mental, physical, and spiritual health. 

2021 brought me more into the present moment than I’ve ever been, which I’m deeply grateful for.

In the caption of the same post, she explained how the post was meant to let her fans in on the moments from the year 2021 that brought her "a great amount of joy."

While she had found her path to self-love and self-discovery, towards the end of the post, she wished for everyone to be filled with authentic connections, a lot of warmth & profound discovery of self in 2022, before she actually posted a happy New Year wish.

Swiping through the carousel of photos that came with the post, it was evident that some of her joy from 2021 came from dating Tony Hawk's son Riley.

The third picture in the series saw Riley dressed in all black on a chair placed right beside a Christmas tree with a dog dressed in an adorable Santa outfit sitting on his lap. 

Another appearance from Riley was towards the end of the series, where he was seen snuggled up with Frances on a yacht. The same frame caught his skateboarding legend dad and Tony's wife Catherine.

Other snaps included artwork, a pic of Frances' mom, and a photo of baby Frances sleeping next to her dad, who passed away at the age of 27 from a self-inflicted gunshot.

Tony Hawk's Son Confirmed Dating Speculations

While the caption and the photos suggested that Frances and Riley were dating, things weren't exactly set in stone until the boyfriend slid into the comments section to seal the deal.

Confirming their relationship, Riley commented on the post: "Happy new year my love!"

Understandably, children of arguably two of the biggest icons of the '90s were coming together; fans couldn't help but be excited over the under-the-radar yet powerful revelation. 

The comments section was teeming with red heart emojis and people sharing their best wishes for the coming year.

Frances Bean Cobain's Past Relationship

Prior to her relationship with Riley, Frances was married to her husband, Isaiah Silva. The former couple was married in 2014, only to be bound in the institution for two years until 2016. (via E! Online)

The couple finalized the divorce and divided their assets in 2016. Sadly, Frances was forced to give up her dad's iconic 1959 guitar, which Kurt famously played on MTV's Unplugged.

This was because the husband claimed she gave the instrument to him as a gift.
