Meet Christina Aguilera’s Kids — Inside Her Blended Family
Famed songwriter Christina Aguilera is a mother of two children from her relationship with two different men. She has a son with her ex-husband, Jordan Bratman.
Aguilera met Bratman in 2002 when she was 21 and soon found all stability, love, and safety in him. Following her heart, she married the record producer on November 19, 2005.
They exchanged vows in a $2 million wedding ceremony in Napa Valley, California, attended by 150 guests.
But the marriage couldn't last the test of time, and the pair separated in 2010. Months before the divorce got finalized in 2011, the 'Genie in a Bottle' singer told people that the split was necessary.
"I've grown as a woman, and he's grown as a person. We were both looking for different things. We just weren't right for each other," she elaborated.
Moving on from her ex-husband, Aguilera started dating a guitarist, Matthew Rutler. She met him as her assistant in the movie Burlesque and bonded with him instantly. In 2014, the pair got engaged over Valentine's Day. And within months, they welcomed their daughter.
Aguilera's Kids Have an Age Gap of 6 Years
Aguilera welcomed her son Max Liron Bratman on January 14, 2008, and gave birth to her daughter, Summer Rain Rutler, on August 18, 2014. Since their arrival, the mother-of-two has kept her fans and followers in the loop regarding motherhood and her children.
In June 2020, the 40-year-old posted a picture on Instagram with her son and wrote, "my graduate! so proud of you my love!"
Then on Summer's birthday in 2021, she penned a heartwarming message for her daughter, writing, "Happy 7th birthday my sweet, thoughtful, funny, creative, soulful, vibrant spirit."
Posting a picture with her daughter, the musical artist mentioned how time moved too fast. "But every year I'm so in awe of the beautiful human you are and continue to grow to be!" she added before stating that the 7-year-old inspired her to see the world brighter.
Aguilera lives with her fiancé and both her kids in a blended family. She has been equally co-parenting her son with her ex-husband, who visited and helped cut a cake on Max's 12th birthday in 2020.
Christina Aguilera's Kids Challenge Her to Be Better
In an interview with Haute Living in 2019, Aguilera confessed that motherhood brought a massive change in her life.
Though she lived as an ambitious girl, thinking about herself and focusing on her career every time, it wasn't anymore about her when she gave birth to her kids. "I couldn't wait for that, to be honest. I was a very young mom," Aguilera continued, admitting she was grateful to have her children.
The New York native then shared that her little ones allowed her "to play and be able to instill and encourage their imagination." She remarked that they also taught her patience and things that she needed to learn about herself.
"They teach me so much, and they challenge me all the time to be better," the singer expressed before implying that whatever she did was for her children.
