Alan Rosenberg and Ex Wife Marg Helgenberger Amicable after Divorce

Alan Rosenberg has been married three times in his life.

The Bosch: Legacy actor’s second marriage to his former wife Marg Helgenberger is the most well-known among his three marriages.

The actor was first married to revered stage actress Robin Bartlett in 1976. Unfortunately, their marriage ended in 8 years when they divorced in 1984.

The same year that Rosenberg met his second spouse, Helgenberger. It’s not only how their love story played out that fans still adore them, but how they remained amicable and the closest of friends, even after their divorce.

Rosenberg met his ex wife Helgenberger while he guest-starred in ABC’s soap opera, Ryan’s Hope, in 1984. Helgenberger played the role of Siobhan Ryan from 1982 through 1986.

The actor was still married when he first met her, but they developed a lasting friendship. They allegedly hooked up by accident when they met two years later at a Los Angeles bank. The Shameless actor was already divorced, so they started dating.

Three years after they started dating, Rosenberg and Helgenberger tied the knot in 1989. The following year they welcomed their only child, Hugo Howard.

The actor’s former wife opened up about only having one child in the October 2006 issue of More magazine.

The actress said that she and Rosenberg wanted to have more children, but things didn’t work out that way. She said, “By the time Alan and I said, ‘Let’s try for another.’ I couldn’t get pregnant.”

The couple also considered adoption. However, Helgenberger landed her CSI role simultaneously, and she didn’t feel right about adopting. 

“And then I thought, I feel guilty that I don’t spend enough time with my one child. Can I do this to another one?” the actress added.

According to Hollywood standards, they had a long and successful marriage, but after 19 years together, they separated.

The CSI star announced this through her official representation. “After 19 years of marriage, Marg and Alan have decided to take some time apart,” the actress's rep told People in 2008.

Four months after the actress announced their separation, Helgenberger filed for divorce. The actress cited irreconcilable differences as the reason behind her split from actor Rosenberg, and she sought spousal support while asking the court to deny him any.

Their divorce was settled on February 1, 2010. The pair parted ways amicably and remained friends.

Alan Rosenberg Invited His Ex Wife to His Third Marriage

The Suits actor has remained away from the spotlight for years. He does not have a social media account as well.

However, his ex has done the opposite. The actress is relatively active on her social media. She shares posts about her current projects and details of her personal life.

And every time the actress bumps into her ex-husband, she posts an adorable snap of them together. And she adoringly calls her former husband wasband in her captions.

In a post made on August 2, 2019, Helgenberger wrote she would be attending Rosenberg’s wedding the next day in Napa, followed by the hashtag “#friendsforlife.” 

It is the only thing known about the actor’s third wedding, and even his spouse’s name is unknown.

Rosenberg isn’t the only one who got married again. His former spouse, Helgenberger, also married on April 23, 2022. The actress made an Instagram post about her wedding.
