Darkseid Voice Actor Ray Porter On Leslie Jones' Reaction To Snyder's Cut
After four years of fan campaigning and waiting, Zack Snyder’s Justice League, aka Snyder’s Cut, was released on March 18, 2021, on HBO MAX.
Following its much-awaited release, fans have been making countless reaction videos of Snyder’s cut.Â
On March 22, 2021, comedian Leslie Jones tweeted a 34-second long video of her reaction to super-villain Darkseid and his troops from Snyder’s cut. In her tweet, Jones expressed her anticipation for a sequel.
Soooooo we can expect another four hour movie cause they aint giving up on this life equation thang apparently!! #longassmovie pic.twitter.com/jlAsleB7ej — Leslie Jones 🦋 (@Lesdoggg) March 22, 2021
A day later, Ray Porter, the actor playing Darkseid, retweeted Jones’s Tweet, complimenting the comedian on an entertaining reaction video.
Is it odd that I want a channel that is only @Lesdoggg talking about whatever is playing? I’d watch the hell out of that. And she’s right. They aren’t ready. 17 Supermans sounds good to me.

However, it wasn’t the first time Porter has showed his excitement towards a comeback. In his November 2020 interview with Geek House Show, the actor expressed his enthusiasm for the future, both for him and his character, Darkseid.Â
When asked if he was interested to see a sequel narrating the story of Darkseid, the actor was positively thrilled by the idea.Â
Adding on, the actor expressed his interest in coming back as Darkseid if anyone were to go on this venture. Furthermore, Porter shared that he would personally be more interested to see a continuation of Snyder’s story.Â
I would love to see [the continuation of Darkseid], and obviously I would hope that whoever does that will have me along for the ride. Yeah, I would love to see a continuation of it. And honestly, I personally would love to see a continuation of Zack's story.
Before Joss Whedon took over Justice League, it was reported that Snyder had a sequel for the movie planned in his head.Â
According to Screenrant, in Snyder’s original plan for Justice League, Porter’s character Darkseid was meant to be the antagonist of the movie instead of Steppenwolf, played by Ciaran Hinds.
When Whedon took over the making of the movie, he erased Porter’s role and made Steppenwolf the main villain. Amongst Whedon's many decisions, this one was also one that was trashed by the audiences and fans of Justice League.
Snyder also intended to make Darkseid the main villain of the Justice League franchise, but due to the drama that followed him stepping down from directing it, the plans were disrupted.
However, this does explain why Porter has been so enthusiastic about returning to the character of Darkseid, as he must’ve probably signed intending to carry out the whole story of the main antagonist.
