Y’lan Noel, who became a sex symbol after portraying Daniel King in the HBO comedy-drama series Insecure, doesn't live up to his on-screen persona in real-life. In fact, the actor has confirmed in a few interviews that he is single and neither has a wife nor a girlfriend. With no social media presence, The First Purge leading man considers himself a purist when it comes to relationships. 

The 30-year-old actor’s real love life seems simple and far less complicated than what’s been depicted on camera. 

Y’lan Noel Talks About His Ideal Valentine’s Day Date

In a 2020 interview with Baller Alert, the actor likened his movie The Photograph as being a perfect date for Valentine’s day.

When nudged about the Insecure star's own ideal Valentine’s Day date, Noel casually mentioned preferring to stay back home and enjoying a peaceful time with a hypothetical girlfriend. The fact that The Photograph actor prefaced the question by saying, "if he had a girlfriend," suggests that the American celebrity is indeed single.

Furthermore, Y'lan Noel talked about being a homebody who would rather give up on the outside distractions for a heart-to-heart connection at home.  

Noel Wants To Live In Public Light Only Between Action And Cut

The 30-year-old artist doesn’t have any social media handles, but there are several fan-made accounts. 

The man says that his life outside the screen isn’t interesting and people wouldn’t like it much. In an interview with The FADER, Y'lan Noel explained:

I like social media, it just doesn’t agree with me. I’m just a monk, I’m like a recluse. I like it for other people though. I’m not interested in people being interested in me. They’d be mad at me. It would be pictures of wheatgrass smoothies and National Geographic polar bears. It would be the weakest Instagram known to man.

The single man has also expressed a desire to continue maintaining a personal life out of social media and public scrutiny.

While promoting his first film, The First Purge, Noel said, “In between action and cut, that’s kind of where I want to live in a public light.” 

Noel’s Complicated Love Life On 'Insecure'

Y’lan Noel portrays Daniel King in the HBO comedy-drama series Insecure. His character is in a complicated relationship in the show after having a fling with Issa, who already has a boyfriend. 

Unlike the fictional Daniel King, though, the Brooklyn-born celeb is a purist for relationships in real life. As mentioned to HBO and Hot 97, Noel, in real life, would never broadcast his interest in a woman who is already taken.

The Actor Is Happy Being A Dog Dad

Noel is a proud dog dad who has two chihuahuas. One of them is named Mello, and the other is a new addition to his family, a puppy named Sula. During an interview with GQ, The First Purge protagonist stated, "I don't have any conversations where I'm not talking about my dog." 

Noel has a myriad of pics and videos of his pets and seems happy with his canine family.
