American — Australian Actress Nicole Kidman has been reigning over the movie and TV industry for almost 40 years.

Besides her acting exploits, the 53-year-old star has been looking flawless as the years pass by. Her secret — simple diet and skincare. 

Kidman’s Simple Fitness Secret

In an interview with LA Times in 2014, Kidman revealed that her diet and workout routine is relatively simple. 

She said that she is not strict with her diet and eats all kinds of food while being conscious regarding the intake. Similarly, she confessed she took multivitamins daily to cover the nutrition gap when she is on the road. 

The actress told Women’s Health magazine in 2013 that when she was on a tour bus with her country singer husband, Keith Urban, there was a lot of junk food on the bus. So rather than living in denial, she maintained an 80-20 rule that is 80% healthy and 20% other food types.

For fitness, Kidman revealed she liked to mix things up. Rather than doing the same routine repeatedly and getting bored with it, the 53-year-old mixes it up with sports, running, yoga, and walks. She also confessed that she loved spinning. 

Kidman is passionate about yoga and meditation. She enjoys going to classes and doing yoga. Similarly, the 53-year-old star has been meditating ever since she was 17 years old.

Following her mother’s breast cancer, Kidman, along with her father, sister, and occasionally her mother, has been meditating ever since. 

I try to do 20 minutes pretty much every day. And if I can do 20 in the morning and 20 at night…that’s my goal.

Kidman loves running. Coming from a marathon-running family, it has always been a part of her life. She has been running laps ever since she was small, and she continues to do so regularly. 

The Aquaman star further shared that she loved living in Nashville because she could go into the woods and run. Similarly, when she is in Sydney, she runs on the beach, which according to her, is “absolutely beautiful to run on.”

However, it’s not always easy to have such a fitness lifestyle. Back in April 2020, while going out for a run, Kidman failed to see a pothole and ended up breaking her ankle.

Her husband Urban shared his wife’s injury and complimented her for her spirit. He appreciated she had been handling the situation better than he ever would have. 

Kidman’s Skincare Routine

Much like with her body, Kidman takes great care of her skin as well.

The actress is a big fan of oil baths — her form of self—care ritual. She mixes oil in her bath, which helps her skin from getting dehydrated. She takes vitamins for her skin, hair, and nails. 

The actress told Vogue that one of her all-time favorite items was makeup wipes she uses to take off her makeup before she goes to bed. She said that she was taught to take off her makeup every night.

However, on the days she works all day, she uses a cleansing wipe to hasten the makeup removal process.

She has also confessed to tinting her lashes and brows. Since she doesn’t wear makeup when she is not working, her tinted lashes and brows uplift her looks.

Kidman has worn sunscreen ever since she was a child, and now, besides that, she applies retinol cream. Having naturally dry skin, she swears by retinol cream since it doesn’t let her skin dry. 

Suffice it to say, a lot of care and work goes behind her seemingly ageless beauty.
