Minghella and Fanning met in 2018 on the set of Teen Spirit, a movie written and directed by Minghella,starring Fanning.

A month later, they were spotted strolling through the London streets, holding hands. And both of them praised one another during an interview with ET in April 2019.

Fanning shared that going to places with Minghella was very special. She also maintained her professionalism and stated he was "a good friend," all while giving insights into Minghella's favorite music.   

For his part, Minghella praised Fanning as a triple threat, calling her the only actress who could have carried the movie so well.
