For Marty Lagina & Wife, Scientific Study Runs In The Family
For all the popularity that Producer Marty Lagina has garnered through his reality TV show The Curse Of Oak Island (2014 - Present) on the History Channel, his family affairs remain relatively unknown. However, Marty, who hunts for buried treasures with his brother Rick Lagina on screen, has a personal life beyond his penchant for ancient artifacts.
Is Marty Lagina Married?
The treasure hunter shares a home with his wife M Olivia Lagina and two children, son Alex and daughter Madeline — all of whom share a special propensity for scientific exploration.
The Lagina Couple Share A Scientific Background
If you are an ardent follower of The Curse Of Oak Island, you probably already know that Marty was in the energy business as he is the founder and chief executive at Heritage Sustainable Energy. Marty is responsible for all fundamental aspects of Heritage's wind energy business. He is also the founder of Mari Vineyards - a Michigan-based winery that produces various red wines.
The younger of the Lagina brothers is a man of science. He graduated with honor in 1977 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan Technological University. He later studied law and received his Juris Doctorate, with honor, from the University of Michigan in 1982.
The same year, Marty also founded Terra Energy - a company that would generate over $3 billion in oil and natural gas resources. Terra Energy was later sold to CMS Energy in 1995, at which time Terra was the largest operator of gas wells in Michigan.
Much like Marty, his wife Olivia is also closely associated with the energy business. Her Facebook handle indicates that she is a petroleum geologist currently employed with Wiser Oil Co. As per ND Studies, people who share her profession work to interpret geophysical information in project reports, conduct field studies to analyze project data, estimate fuel amounts, implement drilling strategies for extraction of the fuel, and create post-project reports.
Although her profile only discloses that she graduated from the University of Rutgers, her profession does indicate that her specialty was a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology or a closely related field such as Environmental Science.
Alex And Madeline Followed Their Parents' Footsteps
Not just Marty and his wife, but their daughter Madeline Lagina also shares their love for scientific academia as she is a resident physician at Michigan. The daughter of the reality star graduated from Emory University with a Bachelor of Science, Biology degree. She later completed her education in Doctor of Medicine and Masters in Public Health with Emory University School Of Medicine.
While Madeline inherited her parents' love for science, it was her brother Alex who decided to follow in his father's footsteps. Alex has a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan, much like his father, and he is also the General Manager at Mari Vineyards. In addition to this, he also joins his father in the filming of The Curse Of Oak Island regularly.
All in all, the Laginas are people of science that complement each other's passion and share more than a roof over their heads.
