Korean actor Kim Woo Bin is back to acting after beating rare nasopharyngeal cancer
Kim Woo Bin’s career seemed to be on a perfect track when a catastrophe struck him in 2017.
Kim Woo Bin's agency announced that he was suffering from a rare form of cancer called Nasopharyngeal cancer. However, all seems to be well again with the actor's health as he is bouncing back to work after over 4 years.
The Actor Is Back On His Feet
As of early 2020, Bin has recovered from cancer and is back on his feet. Among the first things he has done after recovery, he signed an exclusive contract with AM Entertainment, an agency that also manages Shin Min Ah, his girlfriend's work.
In February 2020, AM Entertainment confirmed their contract and commented that the agency would offer generous support for his overall activities, including dramas and films.
This announcement was followed by the news of the actor returning to shoot films. His first project is a sci-fi movie called Alien with actors including Ryu Jun Yeol, Kim Tae Ri, Jo Woo Jin, and Honey Lee.
Bin was supposed to start shooting for the film by the end of March 2020. However, due to the pandemic, there is no concrete news if the shooting has begun yet.
Not only that, the actor also appeared as the presenter at the 40th Blue Dragon Film Awards in November 2019. He acknowledged that he was grateful to his supportive fans and his girlfriend, Shin Min-a, for his recovery during the event.

He Was Diagnosed With Nasopharyngeal Cancer in 2017
The Korean actor was diagnosed with nasopharyngeal cancer when he experienced abnormal symptoms and decided to go for a check-up in 2017.
Nasopharyngeal cancer is a rare type of cancer that starts in the upper throat area behind the nose.
Fortunately for him, the cancer was still in its initial stages, so drug treatment and radiation therapy started almost immediately.
After 7 months of treatment, Bin thanked the fans who prayed for him by writing a letter. In the letter, he admitted that he had been feeling better and healthier with each passing day.
Thanks to your support and prayers, I was able to successfully complete 3 chemotherapy treatments and 35 radiotherapy treatments. In between these treatments, I read all the support messages on my fan cafe and social media and gained strength. I sincerely thank you.
Furthermore, he also thanked the director and co-stars with whom he was shooting a film but had to reschedule due to his condition.
His Accomplishments Over The Years
The 31-year-old actor has been a part of several successful K-dramas. His work includes shows like Uncontrollably Fond, We Are Young, Love Cells, and The Heirs; and movies like Master, Twenty, and The Con Artists, among others.
For his exceptional work, he has also been felicitated with multiple awards. Some of his awards include 'Grand Bell and Blue Dragon' award for Friend: The Great Legacy, 'Korean Film Actors Guild' award for The Con Artists, and an 'Annhui TV Drama' award for The Heirs.
