Lockdowns placed due to the COVID-19 pandemic have caused chaos in many people's lives. In contrast, some have had time to reflect on personal matters— family, future career, fitness et cetera. American television host Greg Gutfeld did the same. He focused on remaining fit and losing weight.

While doing so, he followed diet plans, cycled at home, and eventually lost a fair amount of weight. But was his weight loss journey as easy as it sounds to be? Let's find out!

Greg Gutfeld Has Been Trying to Lose Weight For a While Now

Gutfeld, the former editor-in-chief of Men’s Health magazine, dedicated a reasonable amount of time to lose weight during the quarantine period. However, it was not the first time that he was concerned about his weight.

On August 14, 2015, the media personality shared a post on Facebook with the caption “I gotta lose some weight in my fat face.” However, after that, there were no updates if he was working on losing weight or not.

Nonetheless, the current fitness editor for Prevention magazine was quietly following fitness plans and eating diet foods. For instance, on June 6, 2018, he used his Instagram handle to share a picture of green fruits and vegetables that he had been eating.

Later, when the COVID-19 pandemic hit, Gutfeld completely shifted his focus on making himself fit and healthy. However, as all of the gyms were closed, he installed a Bike Apparatus in his own house and began cycling, and followed diet plans.

Thanks to his sheer dedication, he lost a healthy amount of weight. On March 12, 2020, he tweeted a post and revealed that he had lost 15 pounds altogether since the pandemic started.

In July 2021, Gutfeld shared a photo on his Instagram with his dog. In the post, he looks leaner and fitter than ever.

A Look at Greg Gutfeld’s Career Journey

A top-rated American television personality, Greg Gutfeld started his career as an average joe would.

He kickstarted his journey in media as a staff writer at Prevention magazine. After that, he served as editor-in-chief at Men’s Health magazine, Stuff magazine, and Maxim magazine.

In 2007, he moved from print to television and joined the FOX News channel team where he was initially handed the responsibility of hosting his own program entitled Red Eye With Greg Gutfeld.

In the said show, he covered numerous topics ranging from entertainment and sports to breaking news. Following his success on TV, he went on to host other shows, including The Five and The Greg Gutfeld Show on the Fox News Channel.

A fan of hard rock and heavy metal music, Gutfeld continues to make the viewers laugh through his parodic ways, not only on a TV screen but also on his Instagram account.

'The Five'

One of The Five's Co-host, Juan Williams, announced in May of 2021 that he wouldn't be appearing on the show anymore. Williams was often regarded as the lone 'liberal' on the show and treated a bit rough by the duo of conservative co-hosts Gutfeld and Jesse Watters.

The official reason for his departure was cited as an issue with the show going back to in-studio recording. Williams cited COVID-19 as one of the reasons as well. He will however continue to work at the Fox Studio in Washington, D.C. as a political analyst.

However, the real reason for his sudden leave was the constant back-and-forth with his co-hosts turning personal and affecting off-screen relationships between all the parties involved. That is at least, what an ex-Fox News producer told the Daily Beast. They iterated that they were "very confident" Gutfeld had something to do with Williams's exit.
