Japanese light novel series, Arifureta: From Commonplace to World's Strongest started its television run in 2019. After the exciting debut season, creators of the anime have announced a new season of Arifureta. However, the official dates have still not been made public, and the reason for the delay in production has been credited to the pandemic.

Release Date For The Eagerly Awaited Season 2

Arifureta came to light with its first season two years ago. Fans have complimented the anime for its interesting story progression despite the generic setting of getting summoned to a different world, often used in anime.

Fans of the show have been excited after the announcement of the new season. However, they will have to wait longer than originally expected as the official dates have still not been announced.

Due to the ongoing pandemic situation, the new season is expected to be delayed and will come on air in late 2021 or early 2022. The production of Arifureta’s OVA has also been confirmed, but much like the main anime, it hasn't received an official release date.

About the World of Arifureta

Hajime Nagumo and his classmates suddenly get called to a magical world as heroes. In this world full of unknown threats like monsters and demons, these so-called summoned heroes have powerful abilities.

Hajime also receives an ability, but it is considered weak compared to that of other summoned heroes. So he is treated as an outcast and is often left alone in this secondary world. In classic anime fashion, he overcomes all adversities and thrives.

This world has dangerous tests on every step, which will test the characters' grit and resolution.

What To Expect From Season 2?

The cast is expected to be the same for the fantasy anime’s second season. The same voice actors will voice all the main characters like Hajime Nagumo, Yue, Tio Klarus, Kaori Shirasaki, Shea Haulia, Myu, Ryutaro Sagami, Koki Amanogawa, Daisuke Hiyama, Shizuku Yaegashi, and Aiko Hatayama.

The first season of Arifureta covered the first four volumes from the original web novel. The second season will most likely cover the events that transpire from the fifth volume onwards.

The plot is yet to be announced, but it can be speculated that the second season could cover the totality of the remaining novel.

Viewers Were Dissatisfied With Arifureta's Lackluster Quality

The anime is generally liked by the fans for its plot progression and fun quirky characters. Despite these aspects, there are mediocre elements in the show, like CG monsters which received criticism from the viewers for feeling out of place. Fans often complain about the lackluster quality of the anime, which needs improvement in the upcoming season.

There is a high expectation from the second season, and fans hope the production will fix season one's underwhelming aspects.
