As comedian John Mulaney just about completed his first series of shows since coming back from rehab, it has come to light that his ex-wife Anna Marie Tendler was also in rehab around the same time.

Unlike her husband, Tendler went to rehab for emotional reasons, according to exclusive coverage from Page Six

A source told the outlet that Tendler was in a facility in Silver Hill, Connecticut, to address her emotional and eating disorders.

The source further added that the make-up artist had suffered because of Mulaney’s alleged infidelity during their marriage of six years. The outlet affirmed she is out of rehab and doing better.

Still, other sources claimed she struggled in recent days as the rumors of Mulaney straying became rampant.

Tendler Was Heartbroken

Allegedly, the comedian had been visiting strip clubs and approaching dancers with his number. The outlet, however, clearly stated that reps for Tendler and Mulaney had not made a comment in that regard.

Tendler had reached out to People last week, on May 10, 2021, to confirm the divorce. At the time, she was heartbroken because of Mulaney’s decision to end the marriage.

She wished him support and success as he continued his recovery before concluding her statement.

This heartbreaking revelation came about six months after Mulaney went to rehab in December 2020. The comic had relapsed in his decades-long struggle with alcoholism and substance-related issues.

Following the 60-day rehabilitation program, he was discharged as an outpatient in February 2021.

There Were Omens

Just before his reps announced he checked himself into rehab, Tendler had deleted her Instagram. When she came back on the platform in early February, there were not-so-subtle cues that the couple was not in the best place.

She had removed Mulaney’s last name and replaced it with Tendler. She even deleted the majority of posts relating to her husband.

As of now, her socials have been turned into her personal art and photography exhibit.

Mulaney Moved On

Not even a week since the announcement of their divorce, the stand-up comedian made headlines yet again—this time for finding himself a new woman, Olivia Munn.

On May 13, 2021, People came forth with a source that claimed Mulaney was dating Munn whilst assuring the outlet that the relationship was fairly new and they were taking things slow.

The celebrity couple had met one another at Seth Meyers’s wedding in 2013 and remained good friends. The source confirmed that this time around, the two reconnected “at church.”

She had even sent the comedian some words of encouragement when the news of him going to rehab caught fire.

“Sending SO MUCH love and support to John Mulaney. You got this,” she tweeted at the time.

Personal life aside, Mulaney was back on-stage with his new show at the City Winery in New York from May 10 to May 14. This was the first set of shows he performed since his rehab stint.

Keeping true to himself, he built his first set around his substance issues, intervention and rehab experience.
